Can I attend the event if I am not pitching?  Do I need to register?

The event is open to the public.  There is no charge to  attend.  We do ask all attendees to register so we have a head count when planning coffee and water breaks. https://www.ceyero.com/events/selma-business-pitch-contest

Will an overhead projector be made available to the presenters?

Yes.  We are hosting in Pitch Contest in Selma High School Auditorium.  Selma High School has a state-of-the-art A/V platform and sound system.

How long will each team have to “pitch” their business/business concept?

Participants will be given five (5) minutes to present their business/business concepts.

Is there an age restriction?

The minimum age to pitch is 16 years of age.

Question 7

Can startups at any stage of development participate in the contest?

Accepted Answer

Startups at all stages (early stage pre-revenue, MVP, etc.) are eligible to pitch.

Question 8

Are there any training classes that can teach early stage startups how to pitch?

Yes, The Selma Business Pitch Contest will host a Google Hangout on “How To Pitch and Win.”  The date for the Hangout has not be set.  Please follow the Facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/2171953126163145/ . We will post updates about the contest to this page.

What are the prize amounts?

Accepted Answer

The top prize is $1,000.  The first runner up will receive $250.  The second runner up will receive $150.
