For most start-up businesses, recycling is an after thought during the business design phase. Would transportation in the US have evolved as a "Service" before the product (i.e., a car) became the dominant platform?
Telsa is pushing the envelope when it comes to flexible functionality. Software upgrades gives the Tesla new functionality -- without requiring the buyer to purchase a new car. I want my TV to work the same way. Give me a TV with a detachable motherboard that I can replace to upgrade its functionality.
Sounds crazy? 20 years ago no one would have imagined that businesses focused on providing shared car rides and offering home "hoteling" would have billion dollar valuations.
